The USL Experience will occur from Thursday, April 16th through Sunday, April 19th, 2020 in Birmingham, Alabama at the USL Championship franchise, Birmingham Legion FC.
If traveling by plane, all participants must fly into Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and arrive between 12PM – 4PM Central Time on Thursday, April 16th. On Sunday, April 19th, players must depart between the hours of 8AM - 4PM Central Time.
Fight information must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Friday, February 21st.
We expect player’s flights to be scheduled to land in Birmingham between the hours of 12PM - 4PM Central Time.
Players must be dropped off at the hotel between the hours of 12PM - 4PM Central Time.
Player’s flights must be booked to depart between the hours of 8AM - 4PM Central Time.
Yes, parents will be able to pick up players between 8AM – 4PM Central Time. USL staff must be notified by Monday, April 13th.
Yes, USLX will provide all participants transportation during the event including transportation to and from the airport. We will only provide transportation from the airport on Thursday between 12PM and 4PM Central Time and Sunday for flights between 8AM and 4PM Central Time.
Parents are allowed to attend the official USLX matches and the USL Championship professional match. All other activities will be closed-door, including training sessions.
USLX staff will accompany attendees from the time they arrive to the airport on Thursday, until the time their flight departs the airport on Sunday. Each team has a designated team representative that travels with them at all times. Staff will be available should a player need anything at any point.
Players will be staying at the same hotel as coaches and USL staff members. Once the hotel is finalized, we will share that information with players and parents.
When players arrive, they will be placed on a “team” for the duration of the event. Their roommate will be someone from their USLX team.
We expect all players to stay in the lodging provided for them. Separate lodging from parents is a pivotal component of the professional experience, however, parents are welcome to stay at the host hotel, as well.
Players are required to attend all activities and will not be allowed to leave with their parents during the event.
Players will receive Capelli gear for the event that includes: Tops, shorts, socks, jacket, training pants and a backpack.
Players need to bring their own soccer cleats and a second pair for emergency purposes. Additionally, players are required to bring shin guards, rain jacket, notebook, and extra clothes for non-training times. Keepers must bring their own gloves. We recommend bringing a notebook and extra snacks (3 meals provided each day).
Players will be coached and scouted by licensed Super Y Club Directors and USL Technical Staff.
The majority of activities will take place at BBVA Field and the Legion’s training facility (Home field and training facilities for the Birmingham Legion FC). (Details on exact locations will be announced shortly)
USLX is a fantastic opportunity to promote players. Sharing social media information is optional for players, but highly encouraged.
