2017 Casey Brooke Photography / City FC celebrate winning the U12 Boys title
Out of over 2,000 players and over 100 teams, 11 boys and 11 girls established themselves as the top performers of the 2017 SYL Finals earlier this month with standout showings for their clubs against the best opposition in North America.
Based on SYL coach, college coach and staff evaluations, 22 total players among the five age groups – U12, U13, U14, U16 and U18 – were selected for SYL North American Top Performers honors. Players who performed at a high level throughout the tournament were selected based off their overall performance in their respective age group.
Leading all scorers on the Boys side was City FC’s Raul Parga, earning him a nod among the top 11 players. For the Girls, Emma Rice, Katelyn Tullis and Samantha Barnett all ranked near the top goal-scorers while leading Oklahoma Energy FC U18 to their age group title.
