It was decision day at Super Y Finals, as four teams from each division advanced to the knockout rounds while the other 80 saw their quests for a national championship come to an end. With semi-final matches beginning tomorrow, take a look at the top performances from Sunday's action.
Hernandez poured in six goals against FC Tampa Rangers, an elite finishing clinic which helped his team seal a place in the semifinals.
Diget was impressive all over the pitch for Kalamazoo in a 1-0 win. After failing to advance from the group stages the last two seasons, Diget led her team to the knockout rounds at Super Y Finals for the first time this year.
Lardner scored the winning goal in a narrow 1-0 victory for BYSC, which ultimately was the goal that helped them win their group and advance to the next round.
Barrette has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers at Super Y Finals, keeping two clean sheets in her first two appearances. She has displayed tremendous shot-stopping ability, as well as good distribution and command of her area.
Espino's free kick from the edge of the penalty area curled just inside the post, making it impossible for the Port Washington goalkeeper to reach it in time.
The goal proved to be a key moment in Evolution's 2-0 win, the team's second straight victory by the same scoreline.
