The Super Y League continues to boast a plethora of elite talent across its various Boys' and Girls' age groups, and over 10,500 players involved in the current campaign.

In our Five Player Friday series, we take a look at five athletes who have shone with their clubs during the 2018 season and have been recognized by the USL Scouting Network as some of the league's top talents.

This week, we take a closer look at five goalkeepers that are lighting it up for their clubs across Super Y League.

Here are the featured players for the seventh edition on Oct. 5, 2018.

FIVE PLAYER FRIDAY - OCT. 5, 2018

KAYLA SHUK

MICHIGAN RUSH U15 GIRLS

Record: 6-1-1, 19 pts - 2nd in Midwest B Division
Shutouts: 4
Goals allowed: 8
From the coach: "She was a winger and goalkeeper until a year ago when she started to focus on being a full-time keeper. She still plays on the field when the opportunity presents itself."
Summary: Shuk has become a star with her Michigan Rush U15 Girls side, primarily as a goalkeeper. She aims to emulate her style in net after Premier League veteran Petr Cech, although Shuk possesses great ability as a field player as well. In 2018, Shuk has scored four goals for her team, as a goalkeeper. Additionally, she takes all the set pieces for the Rush. Insanity.

BENJAMIN BRINK & CALE JORDAN

ATLANTA FiRE UNITED PSG U16/17 BOYS

Record: 7-0-1, 22 pts - 1st in South Atlantic Division
Shutouts: 8 combined
Goals allowed: 0
From the coach: "Benjamin Brink is a goalkeeper that has good foot work, positioning and reactions. Cale Jordan has good distribution and is tough and attentive in most situations. Both of them love soccer, are hard workers and are dedicated to getting better every day."
Summary: It's not uncommon for teams to swap goalkeepers, but Atlanta Fire United PSG's duo in goal might be unmatched in the U16/17 age group. Both Brink and Jordan have shown that they are among the country's elite, with neither player allowing a single goal during the 2018 season.

ZACH WEBB

SAN ANTONIO CITY SC U15 BOYS

Record: 2-0-2, 8 pts - 1st in Mid-South Division
Shutouts: 4
Goals allowed: 0
From the coach: "Zach is a student of the game and he's consistently looking to improve. He has good feet and has worked hard to improve his passing, which is a strength of his. He is a good shot stopper and courageous. He is working on his consistency when it comes to dealing with crosses and catching in traffic,as well as punching. We are pleased with his commitment and progression."
Summary: Webb's ability to keep his team in matches by preventing the opposition from scoring isn't his only key attribute. The young goalkeeper is adept in controlling the ball with his feet as well, allowing San Antonio City's U15 side to build out of the back.

MARIO LAFON

REBELS SC U14 BOYS

Record: 7-0-0, 21 pts - 1st in South West Division
Shutouts: 6
Goals allowed: 1
From the coach"Mario's favorite goalkeeper is Barcelona's Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, but I think he plays more like Claudio Bravo."
Summary: Lafon is the ideal safety net at the back for Rebels SC, who have shown they have one of the stingiest defenses in the U14 age group. The young net-minder is seen as the team's most-vocal leader, which has proven to be a tremendous asset to the successful club.
