Central Illinois Elite's Balota, Atlanta Metros' Lopez-Munoz among players featured

With over 10,500 players competing in the Super Y League during the 2018 season, the USL Scouting Network has identified hundreds of boys and girls who have stood out for their clubs.

In our Five Player Friday series, we take a look at five boys and girls who have performed well in the 2018 season and have been recognized by the USL Scouting Network as among the league's top talents.

Here are the featured players for the fifth edition on Sept. 21, 2018.

FIVE PLAYER FRIDAY - SEPT. 21, 2018

FABIO GIRLADO

BETHESDA SC BLUE U13 BOYS

Record: 8-0-0, 24 pts - 1st in Mid Atlantic Division
Goals: 10
Assists: 2
Summary: Girlado scored a little more than 20 percent of his side's goals during the 2018 Super Y League regular season. He scored a team-high 10 goals and also recorded two assists to help his team to an undefeated 8-0-0 record. 

OSWALDO LOPEZ-MUNOZ

ATLANTA METROS U14 BOYS

Record: 7-2-1, 22 pts - 2nd in South Atlantic A Division
Goals: 11
Assists: 7
Summary: Lopez-Munoz was the clear leader in attack for the Atlanta Metros U14 Boys during the summer. He had a team-high 11 goals and a team-high seven assists in nine appearances, helping his side record an impressive 7-2-1 record during the regular season.

ADDISON DANGLER

NORTHERN VIRGINIA SC U15 GIRLS

Record: 9-0-1, 28 pts - 1st in Mid Atlantic B Division
Goals: 15
Assists: 5
Summary: Dangler finished the Super Y League's regular season with an astonishing 15 goals, the most in the Mid Atlantic B Division – the second-highest goalscorer in the division finished with nine tallies. She also provided five assists to help her side to an unbeaten 9-0-1 record during the summer.

AUBREY BALOTA

CENTRAL ILLINOIS ELITE U11 GIRLS

Record: 6-2-0, 18 pts - 2nd in Midwest A Division
Goals: 12
Assists: 1
Summary: Balota finished the 2018 regular season with 12 goals and one assist in seven appearances for the Central Illinois Elite U11 Girls. Her 12 tallies were the most in the Midwest A Division and helped her side to a respectable 6-2-0 record.

OCEAN LIPSCOMB

ALPHARETTA AMBUSH U11 BOYS

Record: 7-1-0, 21 pts - 1st in South Atlantic A Division
Goals: 12
Assists: 12
Summary: Lipscomb was the heartbeat of the Alpharetta Ambush U11 Boys' attack, recording an eye-opening 12 goals and 12 assists in eight appearances during the 2018 regular season. His 12 assists were the most of any player in the South Atlantic A Division.
