Tulsa, Oklahoma-based club will begin play in 2018

TAMPA, Fla. — Ahead of the start of the 2018 Super Y League season next month, the league is proud to announce the addition of West Side Alliance SC as a new Mid South member club.

“We’re so excited to build on last year’s successful launch of the Mid South Division with the addition of West Side Alliance SC,” said Dominic Colarusso, the USL’s Associate of Business Development. “We believe the addition of West Side Alliance will greatly expand the player development options available to young athletes in Oklahoma and will provide a new level of competition in the Mid South Division as a whole.”

West Side Alliance SC’s club mission centers around envisioning ways to grow the sport of soccer at the grassroots level, while providing premier and nationally-competitive programming for elite level players. Included in that vision is a long-term goal of building a large-scaled facility project, to ensure that all training resources are readily accessible to players in Oklahoma. The club also aims to extend its coaching education platform, to qualify more coaches to train an ever-growing number of players and to keep up with the demand for high-level soccer education in the U.S.

“The Super Y League provides a great platform for competition, experience and exposure for our players,” said Roger Bush, West Side Alliance SC Executive Director. “The USL is a professional organization from top to bottom and their organization of the Super Y League ensures our players will have a great experience.”

“We’re looking forward to a great partnership with the Super Y League and great opportunities for the players we serve,” Bush said. “We are excited about the opportunity it provides for meaningful matches during the summer, which is unique to the Super Y League. This creates new opportunities within our club’s internal periodization schedule to expand our development program.”

A part of United Soccer Leagues, LLC, which also operates the Division II USL, the new third-division league and Premier Development League, the Super Y League features a summer platform with an annual North American Championship in December.
