After two days of preparation, the USL Experience Boys and Girls teams took to the field on Saturday morning to compete in four matches at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.
The U13/14 and U15/16 Girls found success in their matches against local academy clubs, with each team winning by a final score of 2-0. For the younger girls, Emma Berdiner and Chloe Netzel were able to find the back of the net, while Jenny Grissom and Sarah Andrey did the same for the older girls.
The U13/14 and U15/16 Boys also played a hard-fought battle against their opponents. While the younger team had many chances and played composed, attacking soccer, they were unable to find the back of the net, while Angel Arismendiz was the lone goalscorer for the older boys.
Later, the players returned to the stadium to enter the home locker room and receive a chalk talk from Assistant Coach Blair Gavin, who took them through Rising FC's plan of attack for the evening. While dispensing valuable tactical knowledge about what's required to win in any given week, Gavin explained position-by-position Rising FC's personal plan of attack for the night.
Finally, the players attended Rising FC's USL match against the Real Monarchs. While watching the thrilling back-and-forth contest, the boys and girls were honored on the field at halftime and four selected athletes took part in a crossbar challenge. Post-match, the USL Experience teams congratulated the Rising FC players on a had-fought match, with a few even receiving parting gifts from their time in Phoenix, Arizona.
