After an exciting first day consisting of the Media side of being a professional athlete, the 2018 USL Experience attendees took to the field on day two, and had an opportunity to meet a legend of the game.
The Boys and Girls teams completed their morning and afternoon training sessions on Friday ahead of each team's matches on Saturday morning. The five USL Experience coaches led their teams in a multitude of drills, scrimmages and more to give them a taste of a professional training routine.
Later in the day, the players returned to the stadium to observe the Phoenix Rising FC evening training, ahead of the club's Saturday match against Real Monarchs SLC. Watching from the stands, the USLX attendees saw Rising FC players take part in their pre-match walk-through, as well as a few exciting mini-games.
The players then formed a tunnel to the Phoenix Rising FC locker room, and had the chance to meet and greet with the professionals, including the legendary Didier Drogba and more.
Afterwards, the USLX attendees and Phoenix Rising FC players sat down together for dinner at the complex, giving the young stars a great chance for some small group interactions with the professional athletes they hope to emulate. At the end of dinner, the players had a chance to take a photo with Drogba and receive his autograph, giving each attendee a moment they will never forget.
