Long Island-based club becomes seventh new member in rapidly growing division

TAMPA, Fla. - After the recent additions of six other new member clubs, Valencia CF Academy NY becomes the seventh club to join the Super Y League’s North Atlantic Division in 2018.

“We’re very proud of the rapid growth of the Super Y League in one of the nation’s most populous areas, and believe Valencia CF Academy NY will be a valuable addition to that growth,” said Dominic Colarusso, the USL’s Associate of Business Development. “Being linked to one of Spain’s largest clubs provides a wealth of knowledge that will greatly aid in the development of many talented young athletes in the region.”

After launching the Long Island-based academy in 2017, Valencia CF Academy NY joins the Super Y League to provide its elite competitive teams with local, regional and national competition to aid the development of the club’s athletes and provide a large exposure platform at keystone events such as the SYL Finals and USL Experience. The high level of competition found in the Super Y League will bolster the Valencia CF methodology of training present at the academy to help players prepare for the collegiate and professional levels in the future.

“Valencia CF Academy NY is proud to be a member of the Super Y League,” said Leigh Pilkington, President of Valencia CF Academy NY. “This is a relationship that we hope provides opportunities and develops talent over a number of years using the Valencia CF Methodology whilst playing and competing at an elite level with the Super Y League and associated competitions.”
