New Jersey-based club set to compete in North Atlantic Division next season

TAMPA, Fla. – Expanding its presence in the Northeast, the Super Y League is proud to announce the addition of new member club Jersey United SC. The New Jersey-based club will compete in the North Atlantic Division.

“We are thrilled to grow our presence in New Jersey with the addition of Jersey United SC,” said Dominic Colarusso, the USL’s Associate of Business Development. “Our success with other clubs based in the state gives us confidence that Jersey United will be a stellar addition to the league and will provide a fantastic home for even more future professionals to develop while competing in high-level competition and gaining exposure on a national scale at our annual North American Finals.”

Jersey United SC is the SYL’s fifth member club based in New Jersey, joining local rivals Ironbound SC, Elizabeth Youth Soccer, New Jersey Elite and National Soccer Academy in the North Atlantic Division. The club hopes to use the SYL’s summer platform and national final to provide high-level competition for its players while simultaneously capitalizing on the league’s college connections to educate players and parents on the recruiting and admissions process.

“We are very excited to join the Super Y League,” said Martin Brown, President of Jersey United SC. “The league’s structure, ideals and competition align perfectly with our Better Way Program for our club. Our Better Way Program encompasses two elements – our Performance Plan focusing on technical and tactical development and our College Recruitment Education Plan focusing on educating players and parents on the college recruitment and admissions process.”

“Through our membership in the SYL, we can enhance this program through quality competition, continued league play through the summer months and national exposure at the SYL North American Finals,” Brown continued. “We feel that the goals of the league and the opportunities it offers players through the USL Experience and the Meulensteen North America programs complement our focus on development and education for all of our current players and future players.”
