Former SYL players Lagos Kunga, Machop Chol join USL club ahead of friendly vs. Nigeria U-23s

Lagos Kunga, who attended the inaugural USL Experience in Cincinnati, and Machop Chol have joined the USL's Charleston Battery ahead of a friendly against the Nigeria U-23 Men's National Team on Saturday.

The two former Super Y League players competed for DDYSC Wolves before signing with Atlanta United Academy in June. The Battery will face off against the Nigeria U-23s from Silverbacks Park at 8 p.m. ET.

Chol and Kunga were among the more than 15 former and current Super Y League players who were signed by Atlanta United Academy in June.

Atlanta United FC, set to join Major League Soccer in 2017 and compete at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, revealed a partnership with the Battery in January 2016. Alexander Tambakis, a goalkeeper signed by the MLS expansion franchise, has started 10 games this regular season for the Battery.
