Players born between Aug. 1, 1999, and Dec. 31, 1999, remain eligible

TAMPA, Fla. – The Super Y League exists for those players who are always looking to improve their game and move on to the next level. In keeping with that vision, the League wants to notify its members of a key aspect to the 2016 Regional Scouting Series surrounding which ages are eligible to participate.

As the League adopts the new birth year standards for the 2016 season, we want to make sure the best opportunities are given to players looking to go on and play collegiate soccer. In order to accomplish that, below is the clarification laid out by the league:

  • Players born from Aug. 1, 1999, through Dec. 31, 1999, remain eligible to be invited to the Regional Scouting Series, despite participating as Under-17 players for the 2016 season.

After proving their abilities through the SYL regular season, players will be given the chance to showcase their abilities at one of three RSS events. The invitees will be grouped into the four age groups below to compete:

  • Birth Year: From 2005 to 2007
  • Birth Year: 2004
  • Birth Year: From 2002 to 2003
  • Birth Year: From Aug. 1, 1999 to 2001
