League announces dates, locations of 2016 series events

Super Y League

TAMPA, Fla. – The Super Y League has officially announced the dates and locations of this year’s Regional Scouting Series Events. Originating in 2015, the Regional Scouting Series is designed to ensure the Super Y League’s most talented players have the opportunity to perform in front of top college coaches and is the most direct path to advance into the National Pool and USL Experience.

Super Y League players’ U10-U16 ages who excel during the regular season will be invited to participate at one of three Regional Scouting Series events. Hosted at central locations within these regions, these events showcase the top 10 percent of the players in the league.

“We are proud to announce the Regional Scouting Series Camps for 2016,” Director of Operations at the Super Y League Dan Lohrs said. “We have evaluated our camp structure and the feedback we received from 2015 and believe we have made some positive changes to improve the event experience, both for the players and parents, on and off the field.”

Included in the changes for 2016 are improved facilities and date changes to maximize the quality of the event.

The three camps will be held at the locations and on the dates below.

RSS Region 1
New England, North Atlantic, Mid Atlantic Divisions
7/29 - 7/31 - PA Classics Soccer Park, Lancaster, PA

RSS Region 2
Midwest Division
7/22 - 7/24 - The Plex, Fort Wayne, IN

RSS Region 3
South Atlantic, Southeast Divisions
8/5 - 8/7 - Ormond Beach Sports Complex, Ormond Beach, FL

Those players who excel at the Regional Scouting Series events or during the North American Finals will be brought in to the Super Y League’s National Pool. From there, selected players will have the opportunity to take part in the USL Experience. With its debut earlier this year, the USL Experience provides an unprecedented look into professional American soccer and is designed for the nation’s elite players who dream of advancing through the professional player pathway.
