Super Y League: Where Are They Now?

TAMPA, Fla.- The Super Y League (SYL) has no shortage of successful alumni with players like Tyler Adams, Brooks Thompson and Joey Dezart in the SYL Hall of Fame. With youth players all around the country working to reach the professional level, it is critical to begin competing at a higher level at a younger age to define unique soccer skills. For these alumni, the Super Y League allowed them to test their soccer grit among the nation’s best. Ultimately, only a few will reign supreme and earn chances to advance their soccer careers beyond youth play.  

The following SYL alumni have continued their soccer careers beyond the youth realm and into collegiate play with hopes of reaching their highest potential within the game. 

Maggie Grossman

Chicago City SC | Fordham University

SYL Accomplishments: 2016 USLX member in Cincinnati

Current Accomplishments: Appeared in four matches since 2020, averaging only 1.05 goals against her in 343 minutes. In 2021, Grossman got her first collegiate win at Manhattan, registering two saves. 

Chris Little

CYA Soccer Premier | Virginia Tech

SYL Accomplishments: 2016 USLX member in Cincinnati

Current Accomplishments: Appeared in 39 matches for Virginia Tech since 2018, getting his first collegiate start versus Air Force. In 2021, Little appeared in seven games, starting three, including an assist against Davidson.

Sydney Urban

Long Island Rough Riders | University of Florida

SYL Accomplishments: 2016 USLX member in Cincinnati

Current Accomplishments: Appeared in 37 matches since 2020, including every match in 2021. Urban’s first collegiate assist helped Florida get to a 4-0 win versus LSU. She also made the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2021.
