Texas club becomes the newest member of the Mid-South Division ahead of the 2021 season

TAMPA, Fla. - The Super Y League today announced the addition of Round Rock SC. The Texas club will compete in the Mid-South Division beginning in the 2021 season.

“We are excited to bring yet another talented Texas club into the ranks of the SYL for the 2021 season,” said Jordan Rouse, Director of Operations Super Y League. “We expect that Round Rock SC’s presence in League Two will help attract more talented youth players to its Super Y League teams and will grow the pathway in Round Rock. We look forward to seeing what the club brings to the Mid-South Division in 2021.”

The club was founded in 2017 and is family-owned by Janna and Edgar Palacios. Edgar is a former professional player who now serves as Director of Coaching at Round Rock SC, and he is familiar with the soccer landscape of the area - one stop on his career journey was with the Austin Aztex of the then-USL PDL.

The club will be one of five elite teams in the Mid-South Division for this season. Round Rock SC has teams in U11-U19 age groups for both the boys and girls divisions. Playing in SYL will give players the opportunity to compete at the elite level of youth soccer during the summer season.
