TAMPA, Fla. - The Super Y League announced today the addition of Cap City Athletic 1847. The central Michigan club will compete in the Midwest Division beginning in the 2021 season.

“Cap City Athletic is a great addition to our strong contingent of clubs from Michigan,” said Dominic Colarusso, USL Youth League Growth and Development Manager. “We are excited for the opportunity to support a club with a strong focus on player development, a mission we mirror here at the Super Y League.”

Based in Lansing, Mich., Cap City Athletic aims to teach lessons beyond the field by focusing on development of character, life skills, leadership and the building of positive relationships. Cap City’s player-centric approach is rooted in the club’s five pillars: people, plan, process, product, and player development. Through an established focus on these five pillars, the atmosphere of the club fosters an environment that is conducive to player growth and success.

“We are proud and excited for Cap City Athletic 1847 to be accepted into the Super Y league for this coming summer 2021,” said Eric DeLonge, Director of Operations for Cap City Athletic 1847. “There is no question that Super Y will be a complimentary environment to continue and enhance the opportunities for our players and staff at Cap City. We look forward to working with and playing against like-minded clubs that put the point of emphasis on player development.”
