Hear from top college soccer coaches at the event

At the 2019 Super Y League Finals, players will have the opportunity to learn from experienced college soccer coaches on the tournament’s first day. On Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m. ET, three college coaches will speak on a panel at Tampa Sportsplex, educating some of the country’s top young talent about the benefits and challenges of playing collegiate soccer.

The event will include an all-you-can-eat buffet, and will be moderated by Frank Zimmerman, Director of Coaching at Oceanside Breakers, a club in Super Y League’s Southwest Division. Coaches on the panel include University of South Carolina Beaufort Women’s Head Coach Jay Harris, Concordia College Men’s Head Coach Jose Dos Santos, and Saint Leo University Women’s Assistant Coach Sarah Leiby. The event is an exciting chance to develop off the pitch for the young players at Super Y Finals.

“The College Coaches Panel at last year's Super Y Finals was a great event," said Chris Wells, Women's Assistant Coach at Seattle University. "Having multiple divisions of college soccer represented allowed the players to hear about the differences between the levels, and to learn a wide variety of information. It was a hugely beneficial event for all the players involved and great for them to be able to ask questions regarding college soccer.”

With collegiate, U.S. Soccer, and USL scouts in attendance, players who impress on the field could earn an invitation to the 2020 USL Experience, which will be hosted by a USL Championship club to be announced in the coming weeks.
