Semi-Final Winners Prepare for Finals

Lineups for Finals on Tuesday set

BRADENTON, Fla. – The Finals for each division of the 2017 Super Y Finals have been set following thrilling semi-finals on Monday at IMG Academy.

The Boys U12 Final will see City FC, who won its semi-final 5-1 take on the No. 1 seed Chicago Inferno, following a 2-0 semi-final victory. The Girls final has No. 3 seed Oklahoma Energy FC which won 1-0 against No. 1 Nationals 2, which won in extra time against Northern Virginia SC 3-2 to advance to the final; both finals will take place at 8am on Tuesday morning.

There will be a big fire theme in the U13 Boys final, as Chicago Inferno, which beat National Soccer Academy 6-0 in the semi-final, will take on Atlanta Fire Borussia Dortmund which won its semi-final 2-1. Both girls semi-finals were won by 1-0 margins with Oklahoma Energy FC taking on Arlington SA in the final; both finals at 9am.

Kalamazoo Kingdom 1 managed an upset in the U14 Boys semi-final, defeating No. 1 seed Atlanta Fire Manchester United 3-2 to advance to the final, taking on No. 2 Barcelona USA MD which won 1-0 in its semi-final. Both girls semi-finals were fairly simple wins with No. 4 Oklahoma Energy FC upsetting No. 1 NJ Elite 2-0 to advance to the final, taking on No. 3 Arlington SA after a 2-0 win over FC Virginia; both of the U14 semi-finals will kick-off at 9:30am.

A dramatic penalty shootout saw Westchester Flames claim a win over Ironbound SC Red to advance to the final, where it will take on Chicago Inferno 2 after its 2-0 win. Chantilly YA will play Midwest UFC in the girl’s final, following Chantilly winning 2-0 and Midwest winning 2-1 in their semi-finals; both of these finals will start at 10am.

Extra time was needed in the U18 boys semi-final as FA Euro advanced to the final following a 4-3 win over South Orlando, it will face Ironbound SC Red which overcame its Blue counterpart 3-1 with the final at 11am. The girls did not face a semi-final with the top two teams advancing straight to the final with Nationals facing Oklahoma Energy FC, that match will kick-off at 10:30am.
