BRADENTON, Fla. -  A strong second half performance from Atlanta Fire Bayern Munich has seen it secure a 4-0 win over Barcelona USA MD in the final match of the U12 Boys group stages at the Super Y Finals on Saturday afternoon. With the win Atlanta finishes top of the group, beating out Barcelona for that honor.

It was a physical match in the opening stages, the two teams committing several fouls in the early stages, interrupting the chances for flowing soccer. It was probably Barcelona who just edged things in those early passages, getting the most shots away.

A half clearance nearly caught out the Barcelona defense in the 16th minute as the ball went across the face of its own goal. That saw the ball fall to Caleb Ferweda who hit a powerful shot, just over the bar, nearly dipping in.

A long run from Alexandro Angulo-Moreno very nearly ended in a goal as he ran 60 yards to goal, through the middle. That run ended with a good shot but it was well blocked by the Atlanta defense, keeping it scoreless.

Atlanta nearly had the opener in the first minute of the second half after a good through ball unlocked the Barcelona defense. Kevin Suarez in the Barcelona goal was quick off his line and got in the way of the shot to keep it scoreless.

Atlanta Fire Bayern Munich did not have to wait long for the opening goal, which came just three minutes after that chance. The goal came on a stunning free kick from Matthews Praxedes from 30 yards, just over Suarez who got a hand to it but it wasn’t enough to stop it from hitting the back of the net.

A long run from Alhassan Hamid saw Atlanta double its lead as he made a 50 yard run after beating the offside trap. Through one-on-one with the keeper Hamid was calm and simply passed the ball into the back of the net.

The match was wrapped up nine minutes from time when Atlanta added to their commanding lead with a free kick involved again. The ball was worked into the box from the free kick allowing Adrian Lopez to get on the end of it and seal the match.

Just three minutes later Praxedes managed another stunning free kick, this time from closer range but at a tighter angle. Yet again Praxedes went over the wall and the keeper, making it four for Atlanta, sending it to a strong victory.
