TAMPA, Fla. – The Super Y League has officially established a Scouting Network to identify and evaluate talented youth players competing in the regular season and at the annual North American Finals in December.

More than 30 scouts will oversee the identification of high-level players for the 2018 USL Experience, hosted by the United Soccer League’s Phoenix Rising FC, at the SYL Finals in Bradenton, Florida, from Dec. 8-12.

Any player can be identified through this network, but the scouts will primarily be watching the players on SYL’s Top Prospect list, which is comprised of standouts scouted throughout the regular season or through club director nominations. Through a data-enhanced scouting network, the rating system and player data will be collected and thoroughly analyzed by SYL technical staff.

SYL Scouting Network

The Super Y League Scouting Network is a unique part of the league’s programming designed to provide maximum exposure for its players to both collegiate and professional coaches. The Scouting Network analyzes all age groups and development levels in order to provide a comprehensive overview of each Super Y League player. The Scouting Network enables the Super Y League to provide premier opportunities for every player to display their abilities and promote the best opportunities for each individual’s growth and development.

The Super Y League Scouting Network is comprised of more than 30 coaches who will be in charge of identifying and rating the talent on display at the Super Y League Finals. The data on players observed by these coaches will be collected and analyzed by SYL technical staff to ensure quality. While any player can be identified by the Scouting Network, the scouts will be keeping a close eye on players on the SYL Top Prospects list, comprised of players identified throughout the summer season or nominated by club directors. Seventy percent of coaches in the Scouting Network possess a U.S. Soccer Federation "C" License or higher, with many possessing USSF "A" Licenses and several holding UEFA "B" Licenses as well. Many of the coaches are also former professional and collegiate players or coaches.

The Super Y League maintains a goal of providing clubs with an unparalleled youth soccer experience. The current youth soccer landscape provides opportunities and experiences for a select few. Therefore, the Super Y League is dedicated to utilizing its unique programming to expand that experience to all players within the league.
