Lagos Kunga, who was scoring goals and making a name for himself at the Super Y League North American Finals in December 2015, scored one of six goals for the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea on Thursday.

The former Super Y League player was one of 69 players who attended the 2016 USL Experience – hosted by the United Soccer League's FC Cincinnati. His goal against New Zealand helped the Americans secure a 6-0 win in the Round of 16.

Kunga, who entered Thursday's match in the 79th minute, played 18 minutes for the Americans in their 3-3 tie against Ecuador during the group stage and also made an appearance in a 1-0 win against Senegal.

With the victory, the U.S. U-20 advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament, where they will face off against Venezuela at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on June 4 (2 a.m. ET on FOX Sports 2).
