Oklahoma City-based club, which partnered with OKC Energy FC, will compete in Mid South

TAMPA, Fla. – Oklahoma FC has been named one of the member clubs that will compete in the Super Y League’s newly created Mid South Division for the 2017 season. OFC is based in the Edmond/Oklahoma City region and serves the entire state of Oklahoma. The club also recently formed a partnership with the United Soccer League’s OKC Energy FC.

“OFC is a top youth program that now is officially partnered with our USL outfit, OKC Energy FC, and this is something both exciting and motivating for the Super Y League,” USL Director of Business Development Joel Nash said. “We are confident they will not only bring top talent to the division, but also a sense of professionalism, following in line with what the league has set out to do.”

“We are excited to add another layer to our growing club that our kids and families can benefit from,” Oklahoma FC’s SYL Director Niall Crick said. “This is an opportunity to play teams from outside our regular division and give the kids the opportunity to be seen in different regions.”

Crick said the close ties to the USL will serve as a tremendous benefit for the budding talent in the Oklahoma City region and Oklahoma FC’s player pool.

“We recently partnered with OKC Energy FC and we feel like that partnership fits perfectly with the mission of the Super Y League,” Crick said. “The Super Y has great initiatives for the kids, especially with the USL Experience, and that will be a great incentive for our kids.”

Oklahoma FC joins Liverpool-Texas, FC Wichita, TSC Hurricane, and Lonestar Soccer Club as new SYL-member clubs in the newly created Mid South Divisions ahead of the 2017 season.

Founded in 1999, the Super Y League provides approximately 10,000 players and more than 90 clubs an exclusive experience through its advanced player tracking, strong development resources, college soccer connections and an established player pathway including the Regional Scouting Series and USL Experience. The SYL utilizes a summer platform, while the annual North American SYL Finals take place in December.
