A veteran of the Super Y League, Elizabeth Ammon is set to take part in her second USL Experience after shining at the 2016 Regional Scouting Series.

Ammon, who has played for Chantilly Youth Association, has three years of Super Y League experience and participated in the 2015-16 editions of the Regional Scouting Series, which is part of the league's Elite Player Pathway.

The defender, who credits her club and coach, Hugo Phan, for preparing her to this point, was also selected to take part in the 2016 USL Experience, hosted by FC Cincinnati. Following that event, she continued to impress during the summer, and after being named to the 2016 National Player Pool, Ammon is one of the few to have been selected to take part in the second edition of the elite player program.

The USL Experience, a multi-day residential event, offers the league's top players with some of the highest-level youth competition in North America and also delivers a unique look into professional soccer.

A member of the United Soccer Leagues, which also operates the Division II USL and Premier Development League, the Super Y League will highlight players selected to attend the 2017 USL Experience, which will be hosted by San Antonio FC, on SYLSoccer.com.

SYL: What has been your overall experience playing in the Super Y League?

EA: Super Y has been a lot of fun. It's great to join a different team and meet new players to play with during the summer. The past two years, I've been on very successful teams.

SYL: What aspects do you most enjoy about the league?

EA: I feel like every year Super Y gets more intense and more competitive. I think most competitive players want to continue playing during the summer months, and Super Y gives you that formal league to continue competing at a high level.

SYL: What are you most looking forward at the 2017 USL Experience?

EA: The USL Experience is so different from any other soccer-invite camps. I was nervous last year and did not know what to expect. This year, I plan to really take it all in and enjoy every moment feeling like a professional soccer player.

SYL: As someone who took part in the 2016 USL Experience, what do you hope to learn this year?

EA: As I look forward to my future as a soccer player, I want to collect as much information as possible so that I can prepare myself for a possible professional soccer future.

SYL: What aspects did you most enjoy from the 2016 USL Experience?

EA: My favorite memories from the 2016 USL Experience were the photoshoot and standing on the field during the halftime of the USL game.

SYL: Do you want to play collegiately, and if so, how has the Super Y League helped you prepare for that next chapter?

EA: I'm so excited to report that I have verbally committed to play collegiately for Army West Point. It was Super Y Regional Scouting Series selections that gave me the confidence that I could play this game at the highest levels.
