SYL: What has been your overall experience playing in the Super Y League?

ML: My overall experience in playing in the Super Y League has been great. To be able to play at a high level all year round keeps my skills sharp. The competition is very good.

SYL: What aspects do you most enjoy about the league?

ML: The aspect I like the most about the league is that it allows me to play in the summer against highly competitive players as well as working towards going to Bradenton, Florida, as an end result. Otherwise, my soccer is done in June after our state tryouts.

SYL: What are you most looking forward at the 2017 USL Experience?

ML: What I am most looking forward to in the USL Experience is seeing what it feels like to be a pro. I am also looking forward to playing on great fields, in beautiful facilities, as well as working with the superior coaches that are involved in professional soccer. I am going to try to take in everything about this great opportunity.

SYL: What do you hope to learn by attending the USL Experience?

ML: What I hope to learn at the USL Experience is what it takes to be the best at your sport. There are many sacrifices that are needed to be a pro, and I am more than willing to make sacrifices for the game I love and all the things that go with it.

SYL: Do you want to play collegiately, and if so, how has the Super Y League helped you prepare for that next chapter?

ML: I would love to play college soccer as the end result. The Super Y League has many different talented players so you must always be at the top of your game to thrive, much like college will be. Every player will be good, so you have to set yourself apart.

SYL: What do you enjoy most about playing with your SYL club?

ML: Last summer my club merged with another club to form Nationals. With this happening, it has allowed me to transition from a small pool of players in Canada to a very large pool in the U.S. With such a talent-rich pool of players, it has allowed my soccer game to get a lot better.

SYL: Have you competed at the Super Y League North American Finals? If so, how was your overall experience?

ML: In my two years, I was lucky enough to play in two Super Y Finals. One with PSG and one as a guest player for Sunrise United. My experience was amazing. Playing at IMG Academy facilities and against great competition, it has to be one of the best experiences I’ve had as a soccer player so far.
