Crystal Lake Force Awarded SYL Membership

Illinois-based club to compete in Midwest Division starting in 2017

TAMPA, Fla. – The Crystal Lake Force, based in McHenry County, Illinois, have joined the Midwest Division of the Super Y League ahead of the 2017 season.

“As evidenced by an impressive showing at the 2016 North American Finals, the Super Y League Midwest Division continues to dominate on a national scale,” said Matt Reda, Manager of Youth League Operations for the Super Y League. “Crystal Lake Force will add quality and competition to a division that regularly competes for National Championships.”

Crystal Lake is led by Technical Director and Director of Coaching Kristian Rockall, who joined the club as the Head Coach for the U13-U18 teams in 2012. Named Technical Director in 2015, Rockall has a U.S. Soccer Federation National A Coaching License.

“As youth soccer continues to thrive in Crystal Lake, we are recognizing a growing demand for competitive players that want to play year-round,” Rockall said. “The Super Y provides the perfect platform for our higher-level players and teams to continue developing and fueling their passion for the game throughout the summer months.”

Crystal Lake joins Bethesda SCLakeland FCTSC HurricaneLiverpool FC International Academy TexasFC WichitaTampa Bay UnitedWoodhaven SCBraden River SC and Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC as new member clubs set to kick off play in 2017.

Founded in 1999, the Super Y League delivers an unparalleled experience to approximately 500 teams and 10,000 players through an established player pathway, which includes the Regional Scouting Series and USL Experience, advanced player tracking, strong development resources and college soccer connections.

The SYL, the country’s longest-running national youth soccer league, focuses on the development ages of 10-18 for both boys and girls, featuring a summer platform with an annual North American SYL Finals in December.
