Open invitation for all SYL players starting in 2017

TAMPA, Fla – In anticipation of 2017 registration opening at the Super Y League North American Finals, the league has revealed two key changes to the Regional Scouting Series events starting in 2017.

  • Open invite for all 2017 SYL players
  • Transition from three days to two days

“The primary goal of the Super Y League is enhancing the soccer experience of Super Y League players,” Matt Reda, Manager of Youth League Operations, said. “As our players continue to develop in an increasingly competitive landscape, we want to put them in control of their careers. In order to see out that mission, the Regional Scouting Series provides every Super Y League player, regardless of development level, a quality event with premier opportunities for education, evaluation and competition.”

Why?

A review of talent identification programs and events throughout the current U.S. youth soccer landscape reveals a significant focus on a very small portion of our young players. The SYL Regional Scouting Series challenges this trend by inviting all league players to attend and benefit from the events, while still providing identification and advancement opportunities for top performers.

What is Offered?

The Regional Scouting Series events will be comprised of programs designed to educate and evaluate players through individual and team-based competition. By competing in these different programs, SYL players will be evaluated by top-qualified SYL directors, college coaches, Meulensteen Method trainers, soccer metric technicians and fitness professionals.

  • SYL College Prospect Combine (13-16 Age Group)
  • SYL Junior Legacy Showcase (10-12 Age Group)
  • Meulensteen Method Technical Testing Regional Event
  • Soccer Metric Testing
  • Athletic Combine Testing
  • Meulensteen Method Seminar
  • Nutrition and Fitness Seminar
  • College Coach Panel
  • Player Evaluations
