TAMPA, Fla. – Liverpool FC International Academy Texas has been revealed as one of the member clubs that will compete in the Super Y League’s new Mid South Division in 2017.

“The Super Y League is thrilled to have Liverpool FC International Academy Texas as a part of the new Mid South Division,” USL Director of Business Development Joel Nash said. “Their pedigree as an organization and their competitive level are exactly who we seek to have in the league. The club is showing its ambition through joining the league, and I think the players will enjoy representing their club’s crest in the upcoming summer.”

The Mid South, which will encompass Northern Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Western Arkansas and Missouri, will be the seventh division in the SYL starting next year. Participating clubs will have the opportunity to compete at the Super Y League North American Finals, while players who compete in the SYL will be eligible for selection into the SYL National Player Pool.

“We here at Liverpool FC International Academy Texas are excited to announce that we have another opportunity for our players to compete at the regional and national level by joining the Super Y League, the oldest elite platform in North America,” Liverpool FC International Academy Texas Super Y Manager Nick Soutar said.

"Joining the Super Y league now allows us to install another elite phase to our player pathway. It is so important to us that we can show our younger players this pathway and work with them to set personal, achievable goals to play at another level within the club. We look forward to potentially offering this platform to our U10 players in the future, as we believe creating this different environment will only enhance their development, education and overall experience within the game.”

Liverpool-Texas joins Tampa Bay UnitedWoodhaven SCBraden River SC and Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC as new SYL-member clubs ahead of the 2017 season.

Founded in 1999, the Super Y League provides approximately 10,000 players and more than 90 clubs an exclusive experience through its advanced player tracking, strong development resources, college soccer connections and an established player pathway including the Regional Scouting Series and USL Experience.
