Met Oval, Fauquier County United return to recapture U18 titles

Both Met Oval and Fauquier County United have the chance to claim consecutive U18 titles at the North American Super Y League Finals.

Met Oval defeated Ironbound SC, 2-0, in the 2015 competition, and the reigning U18 Boys champion finished the 2016 SYL regular season with an impressive 9-1-0 record. Fauquier County earned a 3-2 win against Midwest United FC to lift the U18 Girls' title in 2015, and the club will be looking to take home another trophy after ending the SYL season with a 7-0-0 record.

For the U18 Girls' tournament, there is one group – Group A – comprised of four teams, while the U18 Boys' competition features three groups – Group A, Group B and Group C – also comprised of four teams each. The tournaments will be played from Dec. 9-13 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Teams will play each team in the group once. There will be five game slots each day: 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET. For the U18 Boys' tournament, group play will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while the semifinals kick off on Monday. The final will cap off the five-day format on Tuesday. Group play for the U18 Girls' competition will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the top two teams in the group will advance to the final, which will be played on Tuesday.

Competing in the North American Finals is another great opportunity to be placed in the SYL National Pool for a chance to participate in the USL Experience, hosted by the United Soccer League's San Antonio FC, in April 2017.
